How to put a custom game boot on your PSP
Some of you might ask "What is a game boot?”.Well, a game boot is the short video that pops up when a game is started on your psp (Or even the short video shown when you first turn on your psp). In the post I will tell you how to change the intro (cintro) video of your psp. If you have custom firmware you will be able to change this opening video to say for example: The family guy or south park intro.
*NOTE* in order to do this you need to have custom firmware on your PSP CHECK OUT MY PREVIOUS POST ON HOW TO GET CUSTOM FIRMWARE ON YOUR PSP
The first thing your going to want to do is download the game boot that you want the file will be a .pmf file
you can find anyone that you want by googling “psp custom firmware game boot” in google something should pop up
If you want you can download a xbox 360 game boot from here:
http://rapidshare.com/files...
First go to settings (all the way to the left) and then click down to usb connection.Something should pop up on your screen Next go to open folder to view file on your computer.
Now take the game boot that you downloaded and rename it “cintro.pmf”
*NOTE* if you want to keep the original psp gameboot (just in case) you are going to want to copy the “gameboot.pmf” file that is on the psp now
Here is a Youtube video by a youtuber named huynh556 I’ll insert the video below:
In the video you need to download 2 FILES I put them below:
AutoStart v3: http://www.mediafire.com/?j8ownreytvb
Cintro 3.90: http://www.mediafire.com/?bp7qvkpuzpj
If you want to you can read my post as you watch his video, but he does give a pretty good explaination.
After you download those two files you will need to extract them to your computer.
*NOTE* If you don’t already have an extractor I would suggest downloading winrar from download.com I’ll put the link below:
http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10007677.html?tag=mncol
I would extracting these files to a folder onto your desktop.
*NOTE* IF you don’t know how to make a folder just right-click onto your desktop and click new and then folder then just name it something like “psp intro”.
Now the extracted files should have folders named PSP seplugins, a read me, and a folder called cintro .
You are going to want to drag and drop the PSP and seplugins folder into the root of your psp (remember when you plugged in your psp and clicked open folder to view file on your computer that is the place that I’m talking about. Just drag and drop those two folder anywhere there. There should be a PSP folder already there.
Next it should say ask you two things, pick the one that says replace existing folder…
After that double-click the cintro folder and there should be a PSP folder inside drag and drop this PSP folder where you dropped the previous two.
It should ask you the same thing it asked you before pick replace existing folder… again
Now go into PSP double click GAME and there should be a folder named CINTRO right click this folder and go down and click rename, rename this folder “BOOT”.
NOW HERE COMES SOME OF THE FUN STUFF. Now go back to the .pmf game boot file that you downloaded (this is the intro that you want on your psp) right click it and go down and click rename, rename this file “cintro” and drag and drop it where you dropped all the other folders.
NOW THIS IS WHERE WE GO INTO RECOVERY MODE ON YOUR PSP.*NOTE* IF YOU DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS DO NOT CONTINUE. I AM 100% SURE THAT THIS WORKS BECAUSE I’VE DONE IT A MILLION TIMES. *DISCLAIMER* I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM THAT MAY BEFALL YOUR PSP.
Now let’s continue. completely turn off your psp (COMPLETELY! LOL) now
hold the R trigger while it is off and while holding the R trigger turn on your psp. a black and red screen should show up.
Next, go down to configuration, and click X. Next, go to autorun program at psp/games/ . . . click X to enable it. Then, go all the way up and click Back (click X on back). then, go down to plugins and click X. you will see two disabled autostart.prx ENABLE BOTH OF THESE.
next go back, and GO DOWN TO CLICK EXIT. YOUR PSP SHOULD COME ON LIKE NORMAL. Now, click over to game and click down to MEMORY STICK. IN THIS SECTION YOU SHOULD SEE TWO NEW THINGS: “PMF” AND “AUTOSTARTCONFIGURATOR”.
click on autostart configurator and click X. go all the way down to the bottom and click “choose the file you want to auto launch. Then, it take you to the root of your memory stick.
go to (click on):
- psp
- game
- click on BOOT ( the cintro file)
- then click EBOOT.PBP
- it should go back to the previous screen (then go to the bottom “see your current options”
- go all the way to the bottom to AUTOBOOT and enable it to YES
- NOW TURN OFF THE PSP THIS IS THE MOMENT OF TRUTH
WHEN YOU TURN IT BACK ON THE INTRO SHOULD WORK. WHEW THAT WAS ALOT BUT BELIEVE IT IS WELL WORTH TO SHOW OFF YOUR NEW INTRO TO YOUR FRIENDS AND YOUR FRIENDS WILL PROBABLY WANT TO DO IT TOO XD BELIEVE ME I KNOW!
WELL THAT’S IT. HOPE I WAS HELPFUL. ONCE AGAIN IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS JUST EMAIL ME AT msknowzitall@yahoo.com and I would be happy to assist you in anything.

PSP BIBLE: HOW TO PUT CUSTOM FIRMWARE ON YOUR PSP
Now I chose to do a post on how to add custom firmware onto your psp because that is what most people want to do with their psp.
*NOTE* IF YOU HAVE 3.51 ORIGINAL FIRMWARE OR HIGHER YOU NEED TO MAKE A PANDORA BATTERY AND A MAGIC MEMORY STICK I WILL GIVE YOU THE INFO TO DO THIS. IF YOU HAVE LOWER THAN 3.51 YOU DO NOT NEED TO MAKE A PANDORA
*NOTE* if you need a pandora you can either make one or you can buy one from ebay
There is a great post on this already that shows you how to do this:
HERE IS THE LINK (FOLLOW EXACTLY):http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-hardware-guides/28839-easy-use-pandoras-battery-guide.html
*NOTE* NOT ALL PSPS CAN BE HACKED-HERE IS A DIAGRAM:
HERE IS A LINK ON HOW TO TELL WHAT PSP MOTHERBOARD YOU HAVE:
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/psp-hardware-guides/8642-how-check-what-motherboard-you-have.html
*NOTE* WHEN I DID THIS I DID IT WITH A PHAT PSP SO I WOULD CAUTION YOU IF YOU ARE DOING IT WITH A SLIM (IT IS NOT YET SUGGESTED AND PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO WITH A 3000 MODEL).IT IS POSSIBLE TO DO IT WITH A SLIM BUT THEIR IS A HIGHER RISK OF BRICKING YOUR PSP
BRICK- WHEN YOUR PSP BECOMES INOPERABLE TO THE POINT OF NO RETURN, THUS RESULTING IN BRICKING YOUR PSP.
Another point is if you do not know how to check what firmware you have all you have to do is turn on your psp
- go to settings (all the way to the left)
- click down to system settings
- press X
- click down to SYSTEM INFORMATION
It should tell you what system software you have, your psp’s nickname, and your MAC Address
NOTE: do not show your MAC address because people could hack your psp. It is less than likely to happen but it is possible
If you have a hackable psp with a firmware lower than 3.51 than you most likely do not need to make a pandora battery
*DISCLAIMER**
I AM NOT REPONSIBLE FOR ANY HARM THAT MAY BEFALL YOUR PSP. YOU TAKE THESE CHANCES AT YOUR OWN RISK
WELL THERE YOU HAVE IT I HOPE THIS INFO WAS HELPFUL
LATER ON I WILL MAKE A POST ON HOW TO CHANGE THE INTRO VIDEO OF YOUR PSP (EXAMPLE: CHANGE TO THE INTRO OF PS 1) AND ALSO HOW TO PUT A CUSTOM THEME ON YOUR PSP
*NOTE* THESE ARE ONLY POSSIBLE WITH A PSP THAT HAS CUSTOM FIRMWARE OR CF
ONCE AGAIN IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, OR CONCERNS JUST EMAIL ME AT MSKNOWZITALL@YAHOO.COM AND I WOULD BE HAPPY TO ASSIST YOU
PEACE OUT

PSP Help Bible
First things first is the PSP
I chose the PSP because it is my fav portable device (Even more than my ipod O_o).
In the beginning I had a lot of questions about how to put videos, music, and later how to put games on my psp.
Let's start with video if you are going to put any videos on your psp your gonna want to have a memory stick:
I would suggest this type of mem stick, but it does not have to be this size. You can get a 1 or 2 GB stick to start with.
Next:
you will need to put your mem stick into the psp and then connect your psp to your computer via USB cord (the cord should've came with the psp). You can also connect your psp via wi-fi, but I will leave that for another post. It does not matter it you connect the psp when it is on or off. With your psp on, click over to settings (which is all the way to the left) and click down to USB connection. Your computer might then have something pop up to the screen; If not that is OK. Now your psp is ready to recieve videos.
At this point I would suggest downloading Videora PSP converter from download.com
The reason is because most of the vidoes your going to want to download are not going to be in the correct format to play on the PSP
*NOTE*
If you download a video and it shows up as corrupt on the psp most likely it is not in the correct format or in the right folder. This is off topic let's continue.
What I love about Videora is that you can chose the settings that you want, but it is also very easy to use. You can choose great quality or low quality and it let's you choose the size you want too. I download it form download.com because they are a highly trusted site and they will mostly have they lastest version of the program.
*Note* if your psp is not fully charged you might want to plug it into the charger
Next:
You are gonna want open where the video on your psp needs to go. The best way to do is to just right-click the start button(down in the bottom left corner and click "explore" you should see your psp in the one of the removable drives. double click it and the file from your psp should pop up.
When you first see the file of your psp you will probably see file names such as: MP_ROOT, PSP, MUSIC, VIDEO, PICTURE, ETC. They VIDEO folder is where you are going to want to put the video that you want on your psp. open the folder containing the video you want on your psp and drag it into the VIDEO folder on your psp (You can also right-click the video and click copy and right click inside the VIDEO folder and click paste).
*NOTE* If you have an older version psp (LIKE ME :()) you might want to place the video in the 100MNV01 folder located in the MP_ROOT folder. IF you do not have a VIDEO located on your psp you can always create one by right clicking cliking new and then folder name it VIDEO.
*NOTE* If you use Videora PSP it the program will actually put the video on the psp for you with click of a button
Well that's all for my first. I know it wasn't very exciting but I asure you as I post more I will get more indepth into the capabilities of the psp such as:
- putting custom firmware on psp
- changing the intro video of your psp
- streaming video from your computer to your psp
- and much much more
If you have any questions comments or concerns email me at http://www.msknowzitall@yahoo.com
and I will be happy to help you
